Belbien Classic and Belbien Fine Metal series are in the dimension
stated as above (2).
Color
Fastness
2-(1) For
Belbien and Belbien FR series.
No appreciable change after 300 hours of exposure.
(Test method: Sunshine Carbon Arc testing based on JIS A1 & 15
testing methods)
2-(2) For
Belbien EX series.
No appreciable change after 5000 hours of exposure.
(Test method: Sunshine Carbon Arc testing)
Taber Abrasion Resistance
More than 5000
cycles with a load of 1 kilogram on CS-17 abrading wheels.
(More than 1000 cycles for Belbien FR and Belbien Suede series)
(Testing method is based on a JAS testing standard)
Impact
Resistance Under Low Temperature
No cracking
observed with impact given to Belbien left under 0 degree Celsius
for 24 hours.
(Testing method is based on ASTM D-1790)
Adherence
Stability Under Higher Temperature
No appreciable
defective adhesion after being left under 65 degrees Celsius for 1
month.
(CI Kasei Co., Ltd.'s in-house testing method is adopted)
Adherence
Stability Under Higher Moisture
No appreciable
defective adhesion after being left under 45 degrees Celsius with
95% of moisture for 1 month.
(CI Kasei Co., Ltd.'s in-house testing method is adopted)
Measurement
stability
7-(1)
Shrinkage of Belbien on peeling paper before installation
Width tolerance: +0 millimeter / -3.0 millimeters
7-(2) Shrinkage of Belbien after installation
Shrinkage tolerance: +0 millimeter / -0.3 millimeters
Test method: Install Belbien (area or 120 x 120 millimeters) on an
aluminum plate and cut notches with a range of 100 x 100
millimeters. Measure the shrinkage between the notches after
leaving the plate for 0.5 hours under the temperature of 100 degrees
Celsius.
(CI Kasei Co., Ltd.'s in-house testing method is adopted)
Chemical &
Solvent Resistance
Test procedure
(1) Drip the following substance onto Belbien's surface and cover
the dripped area with a plate for 6 hours.
(2) After the above period, wash the surface with water and leave
the surface for 24 hours.
(3) Observe the surface for appreciable change after the above (2)
period
(Testing method is based on JIS K 6902)

UL 723 and
ASTM E-84 are tests results that utilized exactly the same test
methods. In other words, when you have a certificate from one of
these testing agencies, then it will meet the requirements for the
following agencies for flame and smoke development:
UL-723
ASTM E-84
NFPA 255 (National Fire Protection Association)
UBC 8-1 (Uniform Building Code)
BBC E-84 (Boca Building Code)
